Rich Text Editor Functions

The Rich Text Editor toolbar contains an array of icons, described in the table below.

Icon Description
Link.JPG Link: This option allows you to insert a link into your email. When clicked you will be prompted to enter the text you wish to appear in the email, as well as a text box to enter the url to your link.
Source.JPG Source: This option will display the HTML code behind your text. You may click on this option to enter your text in HTML or to review the coding. If you are comfortable with the HTML programming language, you may wish to create your own HTML code in the ChamberMaster editor. Copying and pasting HTML code is also an option. Click the Source icon in the ChamberMaster editor screen before pasting HTML code or to view and modify existing code.
Paper.JPG New Page: Click this option to create a new page within your email template
Folder.JPG Folder: Click the option to choose a file you have saved as a document.
Floppy.JPG Save: This option allows you to save the content of your email as a document, or as a new template.

Search.JPG

Preview: This option allows you to preview your email text.
Template.JPG Template: This option allows you to select a pre-defined or custom template. See Working with Email Templates for instructions.

Cut.JPG

Cut: This option allows you to cut text that you have highlighted in your email.
Copy.JPG Copy: This option allows you to copy text, to the clipboard, that you have highlighted in your email.

Clipboard.JPG

Paste: If your communication content is already created in, click this icon to paste the content directly into the ChamberMaster editor screen. Content that works well include character formatting styles of bold, underline, and font changes.

Clipboard T.JPG

Paste as Plain Text: Use this option, if the text you wish to paste contains source formatting. This will remove any source formatting, and make the text readable. For example, if you have copied something from your web-page, this would strip any of the HTML coding behind the text. This would also allow you to paste data copied to the clipboard without formatting.

Clipboard W.JPG

Paste from Word: Use this option, if your communication content is already created in Microsoft Word. Content that works well include character formatting styles of bold, underline, and font changes. Content that does not copy well include columns, graphics, and tables. Documents with these items should either be recreated directly in ChamberMaster by editing the HTML source code by clicking the Source icon or included as a link.

Consequently these emails and attachments never make it to their intended recipient. Best practice is to provide a link to the desired document, rather than attaching to your content.

Image.JPG

Image: This option allows you to add graphics to your communication. Adding graphics to your correspondence is a simple process that requires initially uploading the graphic to the secure ChamberMaster/MemberZone server. Once uploaded, it is available to all chamber staff for inclusion within correspondence. Most graphic file types may be uploaded including .jpg, .bmp, .gif, .png and .wmf.
Youtube.JPG Youtube Video: This option allows you to add a link to a Youtube video to your content. See Insert a You Tube Video for instructions.

By using database fields, you can personalize mass emails being sent to your members. For Example: If you wish to include the first name of the individuals to whom you are sending the email, select the First Name field.
